Seattle’s climate allows year-round paddling with proper preparation. Each season brings different conditions and considerations. Plan your paddling around weather patterns.

Summer Paddling

June through September offers the best conditions. Warm water temperatures make swimming comfortable. Long days extend paddling hours. Crowds peak on sunny weekends—arrive early.

Fall Paddling

September and October bring beautiful colors. Cooling water requires wetsuits. Fewer crowds and calm mornings. Rain returns but many dry windows remain.

Winter Paddling

Dedicated paddlers continue through winter. Cold water requires drysuits for safety. Shorter days limit paddling windows. Rainfall increases but breaks occur.

Spring Paddling
